Y03 S1S2 axis not active: A Mitsubishi MDS-DH-SP-40 spindle drive arrived at industrypart with this message from a Traub TNL32-9. We completely overhauled the unit, repaired its internal power supply and power stage, and replaced the fans. The drive was then tested under load on our test bench.

Internal power supply and power stage repaired

The repair covered two central areas of the drive: the internal power supply and the power stage. The power supply feeds the internal electronics, while the power stage controls the electrical power delivered to the spindle motor. Both areas need to operate together.

The machine message was the starting point for inspection. It does not identify an individual defective component on its own. In this case, the internal power supply and power stage were repaired.

Complete overhaul and new fans

Alongside these repairs, we completely overhauled the unit and replaced the fans. Cooling is part of the overall drive function and is considered during repair.

Testing under load
