The Fanuc Power Supply Module A06B-6110-H015 has a faulty regenerative unit.
A customer sent us various FANUC devices, including a Power Supply Module A06B-6110-H015, a spindle drive, and two servo drives. Initially, it was unclear which device was faulty. The spindle drive frequently reported errors, especially when decelerating.
Fault Diagnosis:
Detailed analysis revealed a defect in the regeneration stage of the power supply. The issue appeared under heavy load and especially on hot days. Poor ventilation led to component degradation and eventual failure.
Testing and Repair:
Initially, each device sent by the customer was tested individually. Under standard test conditions, the power supply module showed no faults initially. However, the fault became reproducible during load tests, which involved applying intensive stress and simulating high ambient temperatures. Consequently, the power supply was opened and its regeneration stage inspected. Faulty components, particularly IGBTs and capacitors, were replaced. The cooling fan was replaced with a new one to avoid future heat-related failures.
Scope of Refurbishment:
- Intensive cleaning.
- Preventive overhaul – Replacement of all necessary defective and worn-out parts.
- Comprehensive final and load testing on our specialized FANUC test benches.
- Completion of documentation and checklists.
After repair, the module underwent comprehensive retesting and passed all tests flawlessly
